ben ik geïnspireerd geraakt
door het verschijnsel viaduct
grijze massieve blokken
meestal anoniem en ongezien
bieden een wereld van bijzondere vormen
functioneel en esthetisch
grootse constructies
roepen associaties op
van bouwsels uit vroeger tijden
die er altijd al hebben gestaan
Die associaties heb ik ook bij de tafel. Het meubel dat al eeuwenlang een centrale rol speelt in ons bestaan. Een plek waar wegen elkaar kruisen, waar we samenkomen om te praten, te werken of te eten. In de tafel ‘Viaduct’ heb ik de massieve, solide vormen van het viaduct en het gevoel van tijdloosheid proberen samen te brengen.

Usually anonymous and unseen
Present a world of unique forms
Functional and aesthetic
Grand constructions
Which bring to mind
Structures from earlier times
That always seem to have been there
I also have these associations with the table. A piece of furniture that has, for centuries, played a central part in our lives. A place where paths cross, where we come together to talk, to work or to eat. In the table “Viaduct” I have tried to bring together the massive, solid forms of the viaduct with a sense of timelessness.
